Kona's Wiry Mug - Practice painting #1

Kona's Wiry Mug 6" x 6"
Wow! I haven't posted anything new since September 11th? Anyhoo...This is a practice portrait I did of my hairy "niece". I need a lot more practice on this type of wiry fur. I used hot pressed instead of cold pressed paper like I'm used to. It gives different results, for sure.

you did a wonderful job, as usual...did you like the hot pressed? that's my favorite...

Hi Adrienne,
Thank you. Yes, I did like the hot pressed. It's nice that it's easier to correct a mistake on the smoother paper. My favorite is still Arches Cold Pressed though.

Hey Michelle,
Thanks for the your latest comment at my blog. Been a while, eh?
I like this painting you have here, great subject and I like the eyes the best, they came out great.
So how do you get these guys to sit still for so long? ;-)

Hi Mike,
Thanks for stopping by. These are some incredibly well trained dogs. HA!
