Fuzzy Mug #6

"Fuzzy Mug, #6" - 6" x 6", Transparent Watercolor
Number 6 in my "Fuzzy Mug" series. These are so fun to paint, and lucky for me there is an endless pool of subjects out there to choose from. Of course, I'm biased to this sweet, little, fuzzy face. I started with a very colorful underpainting to give lots of depth to the black fur. It was all done with transparent watercolors, no opaque white, so I had to do a little masking.

Love the light coming through the fur! Nice job too on the colorful under-painting too - it really gives more depth to the black coat.

I love using masking...it's fun to rub it all off....!!

boy, seeing the stages of an art piece coming together really puts me in the mood to paint....my watercolours have a layer of light dust on them because I've been so busy with my crochet hook lately!
I'm inspired to polish it all off! thanks!
ciao bella
have a great weekend

great job Michelle. Great blog.
My pardner in our gallery has a Long Haired Chihuahua. It is really our Gallery dog and is sure loved by patrons. Sometimes they forget to look at art in giving him their attention.
