Reflection/Refraction

Welcome! to the new followers of this blog, I'm glad you're here. My apologies for being neglectful of my blog lately.

Reflection, Refraction, 6" x 6", Transparent Watercolor
Wanting a challenge, I went a bit out of my realm with this painting, as I've only painted glass one other time, and it was clear, not colored. Color and light draw me to paint something more than almost anything else, and this is full of both. I had a lot of fun painting this. Also, I did a less detailed drawing this time, and found it more enjoyable to do a bit of "guesswork" with the brush.

Beautiful washes Michelle,The reflections and the highlights are beautifully placed.
For highlights,do u wash first and
then remove with dry wet brush or u mask the area?

Lovely, intense--and a little abstract!

I loved the abstractness associated with this piece. The colors are dramatic, the reflections are dancing all over, lovely job Michelle!

Thank you, Anudeepa. For the highlights on this painting, I saved the whites by not painting them. I also increased the size of the highlight later by using clean water on a brush and blotting with tissue. Sometimes I use masking fluid, but not on this one.

Thanks, Constance, Padmaja, Carrie, Crystal, Sandeep, & Katherine! I appreciate your nice comments.
